MPC provides leadership to promote philanthropy and increase its impact in Maine.
Grantmakers: MPC provides its grantmaker members with services to enhance their effectiveness as funders, increase partnership and collaboration among funders, and bring together foundation and nonprofit leaders to enhance the impact of grants made in Maine and expand philanthropy throughout the state. MPC keeps grantmakers abreast of the latest thinking and trends in philanthropy – here in Maine, regionally and nationally. From best practices and sample documents to connections to other grantmakers, nonprofits or resources, MPC is your one-stop shop for philanthropic information.
Grantseekers: MPC’s associate member category is offered to Maine nonprofit organizations, consultants, professional advisors and others with an interest in the philanthropic sector. To further assist Maine’s grantseeking community, MPC also offers targeted services, including: access to a wide array of resources held at the MPC library in Portland and its network of library partners around the state; classes, programs, and special events; reports analyzing trends in Maine giving; practical publications and online resources; and access to information about local and national foundations, philanthropic sector news, and giving trends.
